Here we go...round two!!!

We're having another baby!!! I am beyond excited to bring another miracle into our family. Jonah has brought us so much happiness and really given us the meaning of love and life. We cannot wait to give Jonah B a little brother or sister. We always said that we wanted our kids to be close in age. 2 years was what we were hoping for. Well, we got it! They will actually be a little less than 2 years apart. Things happened a little quicker this time  :)

I was extremely anxious this time around. I just wanted to get to that first appointment and hear my baby's heart beating away. The appointment went great! Everything was just as it should be. When I heard that heartbeat, I just cried. It's so special. Even the second time around. I don't care if it's the tenth time around, there is nothing like it. Such a small little human (about 2cm long actually) and that heart is beating life into him/her. It's so incredible. She said the heart rate was 173. Jonah's was 176 at his first appointment. I measured 8wks 6days and am due March 5th! I've had some nausea issues already. I've just had to keep eating small snacks throughout the day to keep a handle on it. So far, so good! Of course exhaustion (not just fatigue) has been hitting really hard. It's so much harder this time with a toddler running around! Although, it might keep my mind off of things and pass time quicker. It will be tough for a while, but worth it in the end.

I just know Jonah will love his little brother or sister. We taught him to say "baby" at the doctor's office. He was pointing at the baby pictures and saying "bebe". So sweet! We bought him a big brother book. That's how we revealed the news to mom and dad. Jonah just took his Nonny the book to read. She picked him up and read the title out loud..."So you're going to be a big brother"...wait, what??? It was so funny. It took her a second to catch on!
We are so looking forward to being a family of four. I just pray that things go well during my pregnancy and we have a healthy little baby at the end. I honestly have a strong feeling that we will have a girl. Not sure why, but it's there. We will just have to wait and see! Nonny has decided to call this baby Juju while we're waiting. Jonah was jellybean before he was born. She says this baby is jellybean jr. Well, little baby...we all love you so much already and cannot wait to know more about you, meet you, hold you, and kiss all over you! In the mean time...Jonah will be studying up...lots for a big brother to learn!!!

J is 15 Months!

My big boy is 15 months old! He seriously just keeps us laughing all the time. He is learning something new everyday and making us so proud! He had his 15 month checkup with Dr. Bill. He's 24lbs 6oz, which oddly enough was the exact weight when I took him in for that swollen eye. He's 75% in weight and 85% in height. He's getting lean! Dr. Bill was asking questions that, sometimes, I just laughed at. Does he say words? Um yes...like 10 (mommy, daddy, nonny, doggie, nite nite, boo, more, bubbles, get out/down, bye bye, doc - Doc McStuffins, D - for Dylan, and his newest addition...NO! He's become extremely opinionated!).
Not all of them are pronounced correctly, but Dr. Bill says that if he's using them consistently and correctly, then that counts. Another question...does he know body parts. Yes! When he feels like cooperating, he will point to his head, ear, nose, tummy, and feet.

Does he enjoy looking at books? This is laughable, because he LOVES books. He will bring us a book at all hours of the day and demand that we read it to him. I think that's why he is so smart. Does he eat well? Ha! He eats like a little piggy. We have never had a problem with this kid eating. He will eat pretty much anything we eat. Does he sleep well at night? Yes, 11-12 hours most nights. When you are talking to him, does he seem to understand. Yes, especially when we ask him to bring us something and he does, or if he wants to go outside and he goes to the door (most of the time getting his shoes in the process), or if he wants to go brush his teeth and he goes to the sink in our bathroom.

Some things he didn't ask, but Jonah does...He has starting being able to point things out in his books. Some things that he gets regularly: ball, flower, sunshine, duck, dog, frog, turtle, balloon, frog, lion, Pooh, bubbles, banana. He is also really loving puzzles. He has one that has like 6 animals and he puts them right in their places every time!
He's also getting really good at stacking blocks. He's just the greatest thing since sliced bread! He now has 4 teeth on the top and 4 on the bottom. He's had a nasty nose for a little while now, but ears looked great so it's just snot! His hair is starting to fill in nicely. Finally! It gets so kinky curly in the humidity! He was so sleepy since we were there for like 2 hours. He almost fell asleep in the table waiting for shots. He had to get 2 :( After that, he had a little snack and we were out the door!!!

Blocks with Daddy

Looking for his dog-dy :)

LOVES TO READ!!!

Stacked these all by himself!

Calls every animal Dog-dy!!!

Loves to play peek a boo! He will get behind something, most of the time this curtain, and just giggle when you ask where's Jonah? He thinks it's hilarious that you "can't find him".
He's such a cool little dude. I finally got him to wear sunglasses and doesn't he look to adorable?

He loves to be just like his daddy.....

Jonah B is my special little buddy and I just LOVE spending all my time with him. I just explode with pride when he learns something new, which is all the time. He is just so smart, I don't know how we are going to handle him when he gets a little bigger. The other night, he actually let me rock him to sleep for the first time in a while. It was just so sweet. I love to squeeze him and kiss those precious lips!!!

Happy 4th and such!

Happy Birthday America! We had a very wet 4th of July this year. Actually, it has rained now for like 4 days straight. We did get enough of a break to shoot a few fireworks. Jonah watched from a distance...

I thought this was too cute. He doesn't have a phone like this at home. We were at Lele's and I looked at him and he had it up to his ear like he was having some important convo. It's crazy what kids pick up on.

We took the kids to Chuck E Cheese one weekday. I love love love being off so much so we can do so much together (plus being able to go in the week helps with crowd control!) Jonah was very unsure at first. He actually cried and demanded to get off a few things in the beginning. But, he warmed up and had a good time.

Just some randomness now...some of Jonah's cuteness recently...
He loves his daddy so incredibly much and wants to do everything he does! Careful daddy ;)

He has started climbing onto his "tailgate" and lounging. BTW, there was nothing but melted ice in the cup at this point!

He started having to brush those teethies!!! It's the cutest thing how he just took to our bedtime ritual. He really likes it. I guess it also feels good on him gums. I thought the little toothbrush was just too cute.

Handsome baby boy after hims bath. Also, the only time his hair lays flat. He's got some curly little kinky hair coming it! Wavy just like his momma's, I guess.

My smart little boy LOVES to read! He will constantly bring us books he wants us to read. I'll also catch him many times a day sitting by himself flipping through a book.

His loveys are very important to him :) He has to have Buddy and Gaffy to go to bed or nap. Sometimes he will leave them in the bed when he gets up, but other times he demands to take them downstairs. Not ready to part ways yet. It's so sweet to see him give kisses to Buddy :)

We've started the climbing business! Before I knew it, he had climbed up in the back of his truck. Daredevil!

Literally into EVERYTHING!!! As evidenced by the following...

He really loves to pull around his wagon or his golf club bag. We can see here, not only blocks go in the wagon!
