Weeks 34 & 35

I had my shower on Saturday (March 17) and it was absolutely FABULOUS! So many special people came, and Jonah B got so much stuff I don't even know what to do with it all. I was really nervous at first because we were having the shower at my house. I worked so hard to get everything clean and ready. I wanted it to be perfect. After the shower started, I was so much more comfortable because it was at my house. I was in my element and really enjoyed showing off JB's room. Everyone loved his room, of course :) How can you not??? Here are some pics from the shower ....

I am now 35 weeks and SO ready to not be pregnant anymore! Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed this experience of feeling my baby moving and knowing that I am keeping him safe and sound, but I am SO over it. I'm ready to hold him and play with him. I am giving him 2 more weeks to keep growing and "baking", but then I will be hoping every day that he will come asap! I have been having a lot of what I think are Braxton Hicks contractions. My belly gets so tight and rock hard. I swear my belly is rock solid more than it is soft these days. They don't hurt, but it's so uncomfortable, especially when trying to eat or riding in the car. I still feel Jonah moving a lot, but it's changed to a slower rolling kind of movement, instead of kicking and jabbing, which I have to say I'm thankful for. I'm just so ready to see my Derek Brandon looking thing :)

We decided to have a fun day and take Dylan to the zoo! He is just such a good big brother to Kiwi, so we wanted to treat him to a special day. He really liked all the animals, but he said the zebra was his favorite. When we ask him what the elephant says, he always says "Roll Tide!" We are teaching that baby right :) I love hanging out with him so much. Derek has a lot of fun with him, too. It makes me happy, because I can picture him playing with our little boy and teaching him cute things.

Weeks 32 & 33

Week 32 was pretty exciting. We had a repeat 4D since Jonah B wanted to just sleep the whole time at our 30wk 4D. To make sure that wouldn't happen again, I might have drank a Mt. Dew that morning when I woke up. It worked! He was definetely more alert this time. We even got a few pics of him with his eyes open...a little weird, but interesting. The problem this time was that he was constantly keeping something up in front of his face. At one point, it was his hand, then his foot (somehow), then he wanted to munch on the cord. I don't know what's wrong with this kid! He does not like having his picture made. All I have to say is he better get use to that, because we are picture people. I have been feeling big for a while now, but I had my suspicions confirmed. She measured JB's head, abdomen, and femur and somehow got an estimated weight from that. At the 30wks ultrasound he was around 3lb 8oz. This time, two weeks later, he was weighing in at 4lb 14oz. That's a gain of 1 1/2lbs in just two weeks!!!! I was so terrified. All I can think about is how I'm on track for a 13lb baby. Now, I'm extremely happy that he's healthy and gaining weight, but come on, let's be reasonable here. I've been trying to eat better and just trust that everything will work out in the end. Here are a few pics from our ultrasound of big Baby J...

5 wittle toes in front of his face. How he got in this position is beyond me!
Covering his face with his hand

Resting his chin on his arm

Sticking out his tongue!

Wide-eyed baby boy!

We are now at week 33. I am getting so anxious for my sweet boy to get here. Words cannot even express how excited I am. Me and Derek talk about him all the time and how different things will be when he gets here. People always ask me if I'm ready. We will be somewhere with a crying screaming baby and someone will inevitably ask "are you sure you're ready for this?" Now this question gets under my skin. I can handle people always wanting to touch my belly, asking when I'm due, and all the other 25 questions that go with it. But, I CAN NOT STAND this question. If I was not ready to become a mommy, I would not have tried and successfully gotten pregnant. That is the whole point of "trying", right? To become a parent? I am ready. I'm ready for the good times and stressful times. I'm ready for the middle of the night feedings and changings. I'm ready for the multiple doctor visits and the stares from people when I can't get him to stop crying in public. I'm ready for the numerous outfit changes because of spit up. I'm ready for me and Derek to go through the most stressful time in our lives. But, I'm ready to go through it together. I'm ready for that sweet baby boy to stare up at me and smile. I'm ready to smell that intoxicating baby smell that seems to radiate from an infants head. I'm ready to see him in his precious clothes that I have been spending all my money on. I'm ready to watch him learn and grow. I'm ready to hear the word "momma" directed at me for the first time ever. I'm ready to teach him things that only I can, and watch his daddy teach him things that only he can. I am more than ready for this amazing, wonderful, stressful, rewarding, life-changing event. Now that I am off my soap box, something else I am ready for....my shower! It's next Saturday, and I am super excited! I know my family has been working very hard to get everything together. It's going to be perfect. If only this week will go by super fast :) Here I am at 33wks.....

Derek wanted his picture made, too :)
