So cliche, but I CANNOT believe a year has slipped by already. By far, the most amazing year of my life. I was having a hard time as the big day approached, but now that we're past his big birthday, I am so ok with it. I'm so proud and amazed at that little boy. He is so smart and so very handsome. We just love to watch him play and discover new things. He is still working on learning his words. He says 'mama' and 'dada', 'dog' (well close anyways), and has said 'bye' a couple of times. He also says 'nana', which we think is Nonny, and 'no'. He can understand much more than that. We can tell him to find Gaffy (his favorite lovey) and he will go straight to it. We ask "where's dada?", or mama, or nonny, or poppy, or dog....etc....and he looks right to that person. He loves to put small toys in bigger things and then take them back out. He's getting such a personality and attitude! He has pitched a few fits, and is so cute doing it! Kinda makes it hard to get mad at him ;) We still try to barricade him in the living room...notice I said try. He now busts right through them, moving chairs/gaits or crawling through the chair legs. It's really funny, I mean sad when he gets stuck!
He eats pretty much anything that is put in front of him. He's totally on table food, and we just switched to whole milk this morning. He's doing really well, but still demands his bedtime baba. That's gonna be hard to quit! He's wearing 12-18mo clothes (mostly 18) and size 4-5 shoes. He loves to give kisses and keeps Gaffy very close at all times.
Here are a couple of pics of his escape tactics!
Enough of that...we were very busy in the days before his birthday. I wanted it to be fun-filled and very special.
Jonah B's clubhouse from Mommy and Daddy
He loves playing outside! We seriously have spent more time outside than ever over the past few days!
Sweet Dylan just loves his babies!
I love to watch these kiddos play. They are the cutest little friends :)
I believe I can fly!!!

Snack time at Jonah's Clubhouse!
The day before his birthday, we went to ride Thomas the Train. It was raining the whole way there and after we got there. Thankfully, it stopped and we were able to have a nice little time. It was actually a 25 minute train ride (any longer and Jonah would have lost interest completely). They had some other activities set up around the area. Jonah and Dylan loved playing with the train sets. I was surprised at my little man just walking from table to table, jumping in with the big kids and playing. I think we need to find him a train set ;)
So much fun!
He's so stinkin cute!
All aboard!!!
Best picture we could get in front of Thomas. The weather totally destroyed our hair, including Jonah's, hehe!
Just precious!
On Jonah's birthday, we got up and headed straight for a special birthday breakfast at Cracker Barrel. I think we should start that tradition. Derek and I both took off that day and just spent the day doing everything with/for Jonah. It really was nice. I needed special time with my baby...I mean toddler!
After breakfast, we went to let Jonah B pick out a toy for his bday. He had already got his clubhouse a couple days before and I needed him to have something on his birthday. He got these cute little golf clubs, and Daddy had to teach him how to use them.
FORE!!!
He seriously will not put down his clubs. Derek says we're going to be showing these pics on ESPN one day. "From the age of 1 year old, he always had a club in his hand." He's carrying it around the living room as I'm typing this!
Ok, this looks bad...I thought it was funny though. It was just a perfectly timed picture. Jonah fell in a chipmunk hole right when dada hit the ball. It didn't hit him, don't worry!
My sweets!
Will not put it down!
We took him to the park where his birthday party will be in a couple of weeks. We had it pretty much to ourselves. He had lots of fun, despite the look on his face in this pic.
Nonny and Poppy came for Jonah's Birthday! Nonny was FINALLY finished with tax season and rushed to Gdale after work since Jonah's bday was on a Monday this year. The joys of having a tax day baby! Jonah liked opening his gifts.
Trying out his present from Uncle Tan. He's seen dada do this a time or two!
Today was his 1 year checkup with Dr. Bill! He was so good, of course. Everything looked good. He's 23# 12oz and 29 inch long. That's about 80% in weight and 65-70% in height. Dr. Bill estimates he will be around 5'10" when he gets bigger. We shall see! Ears looked "beautiful". He did have a bite on his face, just below his left eye. Dr. Bill said it might even be a spider bite! It looks ok though, just a little red. He had to get 4 shots and then we were out the door!
