Winter Happenings

We had our first snow of 2013! I was at work, and by the time I got home, it had stopped already, but we did get to go outside for a bit and play. Jonah was at school, and Daddy had to go pick him up early. Later, when I got home, we bundled Jonah B up and headed outside! He didn't really know what to think. He was just looking around at all the white. He looked as precious as can be in his suit, though :)

Got a little crazy!

This was actually the next morning. We woke up with the snow

all over just like when we went to sleep!

In true Alabama weather fashion, snow suits then short sleeve

t-shirts! We decided to take advantage of the warm weather and go to the park!

So I said in my last post that he is outgrowing his tub. This is

proof. He throws those feet up and tries to crawl right out!

Again, get's stuck in the strangest places.

So we made another sick trip to the doctor's office. He had been battling a runny nose and cough for over a week. His cough got a little worse and he developed a fever. We took him to see Dr. Goldsmith on Sunday. He had xrays (4 to be exact, he wouldn't hold still), finger prick, throat swab, and nose swab. After all that, we discovered he had early pneumonia. He got a big bad antibiotic shot and oral antibiotics. It's now 3 days later. He seems to be ok. No fever today so far. His nose seems worse, but his cough seems better. We're getting there!

 

OH! More new news! He added a word to his short vocabulary today...bye-bye! He was so cute copying me over and over again saying it. So, we now have mama, dada, and bye-bye!

New Year and Nine Months

HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2012 was very interesting, and I am so excited to see what 2013 brings! We didn't really do much for the new year. Just hung out at home and stayed awake until 11:00! Party people ;) Hey, I did see the ball drop in New York. Made it to their New Years, but not ours. Oh well...on to the good stuff...

My Jonah B is now 9 months old! Hard to believe! He is so much fun and really has become my little buddy and not just my little baby (if that makes sense). He's exhausting, but makes me laugh and keeps us entertained. His checkup went well. He was needing a nap, so he was not as cooperative as usaul. When we first measured him and Dr. Bill looked at the growth curve, he said Jonah gained weight but didn't grow in length much at all in the past 3 months. I was thinking either (a) we're about to hit a growth spurt...great... or (b) is something wrong? But, then I thought about how all of his pants are too short, so he HAD to have grown. Well, we re-measured and it was a whole inch longer than the first time. So he's back up into the 85th percentile for length... that's better :) He weighs 21# 13oz (80%) and is 29in long. Dr. Bill said he looked great! And we didn't have to get any sticks at this appointment!!!

So some updates about my little man...He still only has one little toothie, although I'm thinking we're about to see it's neighbor peeking through soon. He has started to eat some table food. He has tried peas, carrots, green beans, mashed and sweet potatoes, mac-cheese, bananas, pears, and pancakes! He does really well, especially with green beans. He likes picking the food up and feeding himself. He gets frustrated sometimes when he can't pick slippery foods, like bananas and pears. I try not to butt in too much, but baby still needs my help sometimes :)

HE IS IN TO EVERYTHING!!!! It really is so hard to keep up with him sometimes. He destroys
his room in a matter of seconds, and crawls so fast that he's out of the room
before you know it!

Still loves bathtime! I'm thinking we will have to transition to the big tub
before too long. He has started leaning back and propping his feet up on the rim of his tub.
His looks chillaxed, but a little cramped!

Of course, Mickey is still an obsession! We can calm him down in literally a 1/2 second by pulling
up a Mickey video. I'm pretty sure we will see Mickey in 3 months at somebody's birthday
party...gasp...gulp...tear :'(. Not going there yet. Can't do it.

 We started having sensory play
time (thanks to Pinterest!). Derek likes to pick on me about this, because it's messy and a little different, but I think it's good for him so I'm gonna do it! haha! The first one was made with rice and his shape toys. The second was with beans on a cookie sheet. It made a loud sound when he dropped them on the pan. Fun right? He thought so :)

9 month birthday pancakes!!! He liked them, but they were a little

dry, so he didn't eat a whole lot. I think he will appreciate them a little

more when they have syrup too!
