Weeks 34 & 35

I had my shower on Saturday (March 17) and it was absolutely FABULOUS! So many special people came, and Jonah B got so much stuff I don't even know what to do with it all. I was really nervous at first because we were having the shower at my house. I worked so hard to get everything clean and ready. I wanted it to be perfect. After the shower started, I was so much more comfortable because it was at my house. I was in my element and really enjoyed showing off JB's room. Everyone loved his room, of course :) How can you not??? Here are some pics from the shower ....

I am now 35 weeks and SO ready to not be pregnant anymore! Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed this experience of feeling my baby moving and knowing that I am keeping him safe and sound, but I am SO over it. I'm ready to hold him and play with him. I am giving him 2 more weeks to keep growing and "baking", but then I will be hoping every day that he will come asap! I have been having a lot of what I think are Braxton Hicks contractions. My belly gets so tight and rock hard. I swear my belly is rock solid more than it is soft these days. They don't hurt, but it's so uncomfortable, especially when trying to eat or riding in the car. I still feel Jonah moving a lot, but it's changed to a slower rolling kind of movement, instead of kicking and jabbing, which I have to say I'm thankful for. I'm just so ready to see my Derek Brandon looking thing :)

We decided to have a fun day and take Dylan to the zoo! He is just such a good big brother to Kiwi, so we wanted to treat him to a special day. He really liked all the animals, but he said the zebra was his favorite. When we ask him what the elephant says, he always says "Roll Tide!" We are teaching that baby right :) I love hanging out with him so much. Derek has a lot of fun with him, too. It makes me happy, because I can picture him playing with our little boy and teaching him cute things.

Weeks 32 & 33

Week 32 was pretty exciting. We had a repeat 4D since Jonah B wanted to just sleep the whole time at our 30wk 4D. To make sure that wouldn't happen again, I might have drank a Mt. Dew that morning when I woke up. It worked! He was definetely more alert this time. We even got a few pics of him with his eyes open...a little weird, but interesting. The problem this time was that he was constantly keeping something up in front of his face. At one point, it was his hand, then his foot (somehow), then he wanted to munch on the cord. I don't know what's wrong with this kid! He does not like having his picture made. All I have to say is he better get use to that, because we are picture people. I have been feeling big for a while now, but I had my suspicions confirmed. She measured JB's head, abdomen, and femur and somehow got an estimated weight from that. At the 30wks ultrasound he was around 3lb 8oz. This time, two weeks later, he was weighing in at 4lb 14oz. That's a gain of 1 1/2lbs in just two weeks!!!! I was so terrified. All I can think about is how I'm on track for a 13lb baby. Now, I'm extremely happy that he's healthy and gaining weight, but come on, let's be reasonable here. I've been trying to eat better and just trust that everything will work out in the end. Here are a few pics from our ultrasound of big Baby J...

5 wittle toes in front of his face. How he got in this position is beyond me!

Wide-eyed baby boy!

We are now at week 33. I am getting so anxious for my sweet boy to get here. Words cannot even express how excited I am. Me and Derek talk about him all the time and how different things will be when he gets here. People always ask me if I'm ready. We will be somewhere with a crying screaming baby and someone will inevitably ask "are you sure you're ready for this?" Now this question gets under my skin. I can handle people always wanting to touch my belly, asking when I'm due, and all the other 25 questions that go with it. But, I CAN NOT STAND this question. If I was not ready to become a mommy, I would not have tried and successfully gotten pregnant. That is the whole point of "trying", right? To become a parent? I am ready. I'm ready for the good times and stressful times. I'm ready for the middle of the night feedings and changings. I'm ready for the multiple doctor visits and the stares from people when I can't get him to stop crying in public. I'm ready for the numerous outfit changes because of spit up. I'm ready for me and Derek to go through the most stressful time in our lives. But, I'm ready to go through it together. I'm ready for that sweet baby boy to stare up at me and smile. I'm ready to smell that intoxicating baby smell that seems to radiate from an infants head. I'm ready to see him in his precious clothes that I have been spending all my money on. I'm ready to watch him learn and grow. I'm ready to hear the word "momma" directed at me for the first time ever. I'm ready to teach him things that only I can, and watch his daddy teach him things that only he can. I am more than ready for this amazing, wonderful, stressful, rewarding, life-changing event. Now that I am off my soap box, something else I am ready for....my shower! It's next Saturday, and I am super excited! I know my family has been working very hard to get everything together. It's going to be perfect. If only this week will go by super fast :) Here I am at 33wks.....

Derek wanted his picture made, too :)

Weeks 30 & 31

So, I'm apparently not the best blogger, because I have gotten myself a week behind. I'm currently 31 weeks, but I have to give some 30wk updates.

First of all, we had a doctor's appointment and had a 4D ultrasound. It absolutely amazes me how we are able to see our sweet boy while he is in my belly! We could see him yawn, and....well....that's about it! It was early in the morning, and I hadn't had any caffeine yet, so he was still sleeping and would not do anything other than sleep and yawn. We tried to use a belly buzzer thing to wake him up, but...nothing. Tried to roll over on each side, but...nothing. LoL! He was just so cozy that he didn't want to move! That's ok though. We got a few good pics and are having a repeat 4D in 2 weeks at our next appointment. The rest of the appointment went well. He is measuring in at around 3 1/2 lbs!!! Big boy :)
I see nothing but Derek in this picture. His mouth and his little chin. Loves him!!!

One of the 18 yawns we got from him :) He was so sleepy!

Moving on to nursery decor! We FINALLY got the last piece of furniture delivered and put together. Other than a bookshelf, we are done with Jonah B's nursery! I am so happy with how everything turned out. It's just so much fun. I could spend all my time in his sweet sweet room. Here are some pics.......

I love baby shoes!

It's a sickness...I can't stop shopping!

We are now at 31 weeks!!! And the biggest development...Kinley Dallas made her debut this morning, Sunday Feb. 26, at 5:14am. She was 8lbs 15oz and 21in long. She is so beautiful! She has a head full of hair and hardly ever cried today. When she did, it was this pitiful little whiny cry with her bottom lip poked out! She is already working her Nic Nic!!! We all love her so much already, especially Dylan. He wanted to keep holding her and help feed her and dress her. It was the sweetest thing. He wanted to be involved in every way. Ashley looked great and seemed to feel pretty good. I hope things go as smoothly with me as they seemed to go with her. Here are some Kiwi pics!
This was the first time we saw her. She was going to town sucking on her finger! So cute!!!

Week 28

We've been up to quite a lot lately. This past weekend, I was going non-stop. I got another craft idea from pinterest and went at it. Jonah needed letters above his bed, and since the crib is against such a large wall, we needed some more decoration. I bought wooden circles and hot glued fabric to them. There might have been an incident with the hot glue. I ended up burning my thumb and middle finger on some lava-like hot glue. It made two pretty big blisters! It's pretty sad that I can't get through a craft project without an injury. But, in the end, the wall turned out just the way I imagined. No pain...no gain!

I feel pretty good this week. Just feeling very large. We went to the doctor this morning and everything turned out fine! I only gained 3lbs this time, which makes me feel really good. They said I passed my glucose test from last appt, but it also showed that I'm close to having low iron. I just need to start taking an iron supplement I guess. We listened to Jonah's sweet sweet heartbeat. I just love hearing that baby's heart beating strong in there. I go back in 2 weeks and we get our 4D ultrasound!!!! Totally can't wait for that appointment! I want to see my little chunky monkey again!!!

QUIZ UPDATE.......
Total weight gain/loss? 28lbs unfortunately

Maternity clothes? totally...can't wear my other clothes

Best moment this week? Getting his name and decor above the crib done. I worked so hard!

27 weeks and counting!

Only 13 more weeks to go (at the most)! I just can't believe it. It seems so close, yet so far away. Today was Ashley's shower for Kiwi (Kinley). I must explain, just in case I ever forget. When Dylan says Kinley, it comes out "Kiwi" so that just totally stuck with me. She is my Kiwi :) Her room is ready and so cute. Can't wait for her to get here!!! I think it will pass the time before Jonah comes, too. We will have a sweet baby to take all our attention and love all over. Then, in no time at all, here comes Jonah! They are going to be so cute. I had Susanna make an owl hat for Kiwi, and she's also making one for Jonah. My plan is to have newborn pics made with both of them in there matching hats. We've also said we want them to have baby dedication together. Problem is, it's on Mother's day which is only a couple of weeks after JB should be here. I hope I'm up for it, because I would love for them to be dedicated together.

We have been working really hard in the nursery, trying to get it ready for Jonah's arrival. We are getting really close to being done. Just some minor fixes and decorating to go. I love the way it turned out. I can just imagine my sweet boy in his bed sleeping under the little turtles spinning above. And I can see him when he's older, sitting in the floor playing with toys and flipping through books.

Oh, I also tried my hand at making a wreath for the hospital door. I saw one online and thought that I might be able to do that, so I did. It turned out pretty good, I think!
I just want to meet him so bad! I feel him moving and kicking all the time. It just makes me feel closer to him, like we have an unspoken bond already. He always starts tap dancing when we're in church. He loves to hear Pastor Kevin speaking. He was just kicking like crazy this morning! It's like he was telling me to pay attention, giving me a little elbow every now and then. Another fun development...mom came down this weekend for Ashley's shower and yesterday we went to register! It was so much fun picking things out that my little boy needs. Nonny and mommy might have made a few purchases as well. We went to Babies r us and Target. We were gone for seriously 7 hours. I still needed to recover today. I was exhausted! Preparing for a baby is definitely tiring, but so worth it. He will be here in no time and our lives will never be the same. Derek is just as excited as I am. He says all the time that he wants Jonah to be here so we can play with him, take care of him, and show him off. He's going to be such a good daddy :) I can't wait to see him in action! That's all I've got for now!

24 WeEkS

Today makes 24 weeks for me and baby Jonah! I've started to feel pretty big and stuffed. Every time I eat, I feel like I've just spent 3 hours at an all you can eat buffet! Also, little JB has been tap dancing in my belly. I feel him move ALL the time, especially when I lay down. He also seems to like church. We were singing today and he was bouncing around to the beat. I think he was loving the bass. On Tuesday, I have my glucose tolerance test. I've heard it's no fun, but I gotta do it! We've also been doing a lot of work in JB's room. We've got the closet ready, put together the crib and chest, picked a paint color, and attempted to replace the bedroom door. Love my little boy!

On a different and sad note...Jonah, last week we lost your great grandfather (Pap). He was such a sweet man. Always caring and thinking about other people. He was sick for a long time, so it's hard to wish he was still here and having problems. We will miss him, and I'm sad you never got to meet him.
